Morehead Contracting has several facets to its business. Primarily, we build custom homes and additions, as well as speculative homes. Within a different company, I develop land, offering a variety of scenic lots from which customers may choose to build their dream home.
Building custom homes and additions is very rewarding. It is great to see dreams and ideas become reality. Whether a custom project is primarily functional, such as a garage or additional master suite, or a dream home, quality and customer satisfaction is the goal. When building a custom project, you have options to enrich the project by including masonry elements such as a stone foundation or a wood burning fireplace and custom landscaping, including walls, patios, water features, paved driveways and sidewalks.
We also build speculative homes. Speculative homes are homes built with the intent to sell and they are often referred to as spec. homes. The neighborhoods we build in are not only selected for their amenities (paved roads, water, sewer, golf courses, pools) but also for their intrinsic features like mountain views, access to good schools, and a strong sense of community. The neighborhood should play a large part in creating demand for your home.
I am also involved in several land development projects in Giles County and one around Claytor Lake in Pulaski County. The building lots range from 15 acre large lots with mountain views, to 2-3 acre lots. Some lots have views looking over the New River. They are all quite beautiful.
The region that twe will build in is Montgomery County including Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford, Giles County, and Pulaski County. Horseshoe Bend subdivision in Pembroke, Giles County, is where we are currently building spec. homes.
